Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving

Ode to the Food Holiday

I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving. However, it feels like winter outside in Fort Davis, Texas as I write this, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

We at Somewhere Over the Rainbow would like to tell you all how much we appreciate you. We are Thankful and Grateful indeed.  And we want to wish everyone the best and happiest Thanksgiving, in whatever form you like to spend it.

For me, it is undoubtedly one of my favorite Holidays, and not only because it is a Food Holiday, though that figures into it. I spend two days cooking… the meal is over in less than an hour, but that’s Okay. If I’ve worked it right, I don’t have to cook for at least two days, there are turkey sandwiches and a big pot of soup still to come from that majestic bird, and deserts for days.

My last Thanksgiving pleasure, after the clean-up and all the other activity, is to pull out my well loved video copy of the Santa Claus Movie and watch my first official holiday movie…

I know everyone has their traditions and little rituals. I hope you enjoy yours.

The Food Holiday

Holiday Hours

We’ll be closed on Wednesday as usual. I’ll be home baking and cooking. Thursday we will be closed to celebrate Thanksgiving. On Friday (Black Friday in Bigger towns and cities) we’ll open at 10 am as usual, and stay as long as you want to shop.

I’ll post about it on our Social Media later this week, but come in Friday and Saturday for 20% off your purchases.

I always enjoy your updates and I particularly liked the stage coach and distant mountain picture. Sounds like everyone at “over the rainbow” is ready for the food, love, making new holiday memories.
